Floridians are currently grappling with a number of social, economic and environmental challenges.  Issue such as skyrocketing gas prices, more frequent and severe weather-related disasters, and the environmental and social implications of global climate change, have drawn attention to the need for sustainable long term solutions to our ever-growing thirst for energy.  The Florida Renewable Energy Expo focuses on addressing these issues with approaches that will meet our state’s need to reduce its carbon footprint, create local economic security and lessen our demand on foreign fuel imports.

The Expo will take place at two adjacent venues.  The Embassy Suites will host speaker presentations throughout the day on Friday and Saturday, whileOrlando’s Lake Eola Park will be used to host a variety renewable energy of green living exhibits. Indoor and outdoor exhibits between Lake Eola Park and Embassy Suites Hotel will demonstrate innovative renewable energy technologies, such as solar water heaters, photovoltaic systems, as well as alternative fuel vehicles powered by hydrogen, ethanol, biodiesel and electricity. This two day event is expected to draw an attendance of more than 2,000 people from all regions of Florida.  The event will feature more than 50 outdoor exhibits, alternative fuel vehicle ride and drive opportunities, live music, and a free outdoor film presentation.

The goal of this event is to provide attendees with valuable information that will allow them to take action.  The expo portion of the event and film presentation in the park will be free and open to the public, while the Friday presentation session, which includes refreshments, lunch and a networking reception, will be provided at a nominal fee.
